According to a press release published today, the FISA Executive Committee moved to cancel the 2020 Asia and Oceania FISA / Olympic Solidarity Training Camp and 2020 FISA Asia and Oceania Continental Olympic and Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Chungju, Korea from April 27-30 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) in China and the high number of cases now reported across Asia and other parts of the world.

In addition to canceling these events, FISA moved to combine the Asian and Oceania Continental Paralympic qualification (PR1M1x and PR1W1x) as part of the Final Paralympic Qualification Regatta in Gavirate, Italy on May 8-10. Second, the Asian and Oceania Continental Olympic qualification (M1x, W1x, LM2x, LW2x) will now take place as part of the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland on May 17-19.

According to the release, FISA will continue to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation in Italy and will address the situation as it changes.
