The three-time world champion and veteran coach Linda Muri returns to coaching rowing as head coach, fittingly at the place where her collegiate coaching career began, Simmons University.
The Hawkeyes finished fifth at the Big Ten Championships in Garbutt’s first two seasons as head coach and dozens of his athletes have earned Big Ten honors since he returned to Iowa City from La Salle, where he led the men’s and women’s programs from 2020-21.
“It was awesome,” Tennessee head coach Kim Cupini said. "To get enough points to win the SEC championship and bring that first-ever championship home, especially here at home in Tennessee, was just incredible. So I was super impressed with the team, super proud of them.”
