Darrel Davidson is lucky his heart stopped at the finish of a race at the Sarasota Invitational Regatta at Nathan Benderson Park – if it had to happen anywhere. His survival was largely due to the park’s staff and its efforts to keep the venue safe for the tens of thousands of athletes who participate in events there yearly.
