The 2025 USRowing Central Youth Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. and 2025 USRowing Southwest Youth Championships in Gold River, Calif.—both May 2-4—mark the beginning of regional champion season, with qualifying spots in 39 events at the 2025 USRowing Youth Nationals at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. on the line.

Riversport OKC and the Sacramento State Aquatic Center present the Central and Southwest regional championships, respectively, with USRowing, attracting 1,252 and 2,806 competitors each. Both the Centrals and Southwests will be livestreamed on Overnght (use code ONROWINGNEWS for 20% off.)

The regattas are part of the 11-event USRowing Youth Nationals qualifying scheme running through the month of May, with 10 regional qualifiers, plus—new for this year—the Stotesbury Cup Regatta serving in a “no defined district” capacity. Between one and four, depending on the regatta, of the top finishers in each event at the May qualifying regattas earns the opportunity to compete at Youth Nationals, June 10-15. Individual rowing programs may compete in multiple qualifying regattas, but must declare which regatta they chose to use as their qualifier when entering on RegattaCentral.
