Western Washington Wins NCAA Division II National Championship

Western Washington won both the eight and coxed four grand finals to earn the 2026 NCAA Division II national championship in Gainesville, Georgia on Lake Lanier’s 1996 Olympic course. Humboldt took second, and Seattle Pacific came in third in team points.

It was NCAAs-in-a-day, as heats and finals were run on the same day, Friday, due to concerns over the forecast weather for Saturday.

“It doesn’t get much better than today,” said WWU Vikings head coach Courtney Moeller. “Our athletes delivered championship performances and showed incredible resilience in adapting to the schedule changes. They trusted their preparation and executed their race plans flawlessly.”
