Six of the top eight collegiate men’s crews race each other at Nathan Benderson Park this weekend, part of the FIRA Championships, Sunshine State Invitational & IRA Sarasota Invitational. The Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association is the governing body of collegiate rowing in the state. In addition to their championship, 16 NCAA Division I programs will race Friday and Saturday, with the results likely to re-define the Pocock/CRCA poll rankings.

On the men’s side, the Saturday six-boat IRA Sarasota Invitational race will be, in essence, a semi-final of the national championship with #3 Washington. #4 Yale, #5 Harvard, #6 Northeastern, #7 Brown, and # 8 Stanford racing for the Nathan Benderson Cup, a points trophy including the second and third varsities.
