Big Ten powerhouses No. 9 Michigan and No, 12 Ohio State took on ACC foes No. 11 Virginia and No. 15 Duke in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Racing took place across two sessions on Saturday, with a break in the morning racing due to storms rolling through. The Wolverines came away with wins in both 1V8 races and split the 2V8, defeating Cavaliers in the morning and falling to the Blue Devils in the afternoon. Ohio State swept their races in the 1V4 and split races in the 1V8 against Virginia and Duke.

Duke Head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno was satisfied with her team’s performance in these early days of the season. “We handled the conditions really well, with the rain delay and it being really, really cold, we were still able to rise above that and perform well,” Cook Carcagno told goduke.com. “This doesn’t define our season but it surely puts us on the right path. This weekend proves we can hang with some really strong teams, but we still have a lot of work to do.”
