Sunday racing opened with masters eight competition with the composite team Endeavor taking most races. Next up was the youth races in which Northern California dominated. Oakland Strokes, Los Gatos Rowing Club and Redwood Scullers were the top three finishers in several youth events.

All eyes were on the collegiate competition, a showdown between heavyweights Texas, Cal and Washington. Texas’ women’s 8+ crossed the line first at 6:23.27 with Cal and Washington falling behind. On the men’s side, Cal’s freshman 8+, competing in the varsity 8+ event, narrowly edged UC San Diego’s crew by just under a second with a 6:05.24 finish.
Hardware has been awarded and boats are de-rigged and back on the trailer home. San Diego Crew Classic, until next year.
