The watch list consists of one student-athlete from each program, nominated by their respective schools. The ACC is the only conference with a preseason rowing watch list.
Four members of this year’s Rowing Watch List were featured on last season’s All-ACC team, headlined by first-team members Kamile Kralikaite of Syracuse, Notre Dame’s Natalie Hoefer and Miami’s Constance Stirling. Second-team honoree Natalie Timinskas of North Carolina also landed on the preseason list. Kralikaite is a member of Syracuse’s Varsity Eight that earned ACC Crew of the Year honors at last season’s ACC Rowing Championship.
Last season, Virginia claimed its 22nd overall title in the regatta’s 23-year history at Lake Wheeler in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Cavaliers, who captured four of the five Grand Finals, finished with 95 points, ahead of Syracuse (86) and Duke (83). Cuse’s Varsity Eight earned the program’s first ACC Crew of the Year award since 2017. The ACC Rowing Championship returns to Lake Wheeler in 2024, as the two-day event begins May 17.
Following the ACC Championship, three teams were selected to the NCAA Rowing Championship where UVA (10th), Syracuse (13th) and Duke (14th) all earned top-15 finishes.
The 2024 season gets underway on Saturday, March 16, when Louisville hosts the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Cardinals will be joined by Clemson, Duke, North Carolina and Notre Dame.
