Deerfield Academy’s men’s youth eight outsprinted NorCal Crew to win the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Fla. on Sunday, June 14. RowAmerica Rye’s women’s eight successfully defended their 2025 title to make it three straight years as youth national champions, but not without a strong challenge from Chicago Rowing Foundation.

In the singles, CRI’s Simeon John gave all he had—capsizing after crossing the finish line—to outdistance Porter Collins in the men’s event. On the women’s side, Shay Triepel of Coastal Virginia Community Rowing barely (0.29 seconds) made it to the line first ahead of the inspired final sprint of Avisa Rezaei of First Coast Rowing Club for the win.

In all, USRowing awarded 38 national titles at the event, held over four days of lightening-disrupted racing on the Nathan Benderson Park course created for the 2017 World Rowing Championships. Youth racing continues in Sarasota with the USRowing Youth Beach Sprint National Championships, June 16-17 and the World Rowing Championships return in 2028.
