Racing continued under sunny skies again on Thursday, at the biggest Henley Royal Regatta ever.

Washington D.C’s Potomac Boat Club beat Moseley Boat Club in The Britannia Challenge Cup for men’s coxed fours by open water. Syracuse’s men’s eight beat Oxford Brookes ‘E’ boat—yes, Brookes entered five eights in a single event—in another of the five wins for U.S. crews at Henley on Thursday.

Belen Jesuit, Nereus, and the Brown women all had A versus B match-ups, an unfortunate feature of match-racing in a bracket with only some crews selected and all the rest subject to luck of the draw. (Molesey Boat Club had an A versus C in the Wargrave Challenge Cup for women’s club eights, with the expected results.)

Wesleyan University won their Wednesday race against one Dutch crew, only to lose to another on Thursday. Drexel, Trinity, Los Gatos, and two Yale crews all also had their last race on Thursday.

Another full slate of 85 races is on tap for Friday.
