Marist University will host a symposium about rowing history on Aug. 15, with an exhibit featuring material from the Thomas E. Weil Jr. Rowing History Collection. Rowing historian Bill Miller will give the keynote address, “The Great International University Boat Race,” followed by a panel discussion including Miller and 1956 U.S. men’s-eight Olympic champion Bill Becklean on rowing history’s current status and future. The day will conclude with an open house at Marist’s James A. Cannavino Library. The event is free, and all are welcome.
