SARASOTA, FLA. — Having qualified through regional championship regattas, nearly 4,000 athletes from 236 clubs across the U.S. have come to Nathan Benderson Park to compete for titles at the USRowing Youth National Championships.

Defending champion RowAmerican Rye will compete against 31 other qualifiers for the women’s youth eight title. Norcal Crew, having won the USRowing Southwest Youth Championships and San Diego Crew Classic earlier in the spring, enters as the favorite in the men’s youth eight, but Marin—runner-up at both—halved the gap from Crew Classic to regionals and will be in the field of 31.

Racing starts Thursday, June 11, with time trials to set semifinal fields on Friday. Saturday’s schedule features B finals for all U17 and U16 boat classes, and the C and D finals for all boat classes. National titles and medals come on Sunday.
