    CRCA Announces National Coach and Staff of the Year Awards

    The CRCA is excited to announce our 2024 Coaches of the Year. These coaches
    represent the best in their fields, pushing athletes to be the best in and out of the
    classroom, building competitive teams, and reaching for success.

    National Coaches of the Year

    Division I
    Kim Cupini, University of Tennessee
    Kim Cupini has been awarded the title of CRCA Division I National Coach of the Year,
    following her first year as head coach at the University of Tennessee. Cupini led the
    Lady Volunteers to their best ever NCAA National Championship appearance, finishing
    third as a team and earning bronze medals in the first and second varsity eights. In the
    postseason, she and her staff have been awarded the CRCA Region Three Coach of
    the Year and CRCA Region Three Staff of the year. Cupini was also recognized as the
    Big 12 Coach of the Year. Her leadership and coaching led to five student athletes
    being selected as CRCA All-Americans, and the first First Team All-American awards
    for the Lady Volunteers since 2003.

    Division II
    Courtney Moeller, Western Washington University
    Courtney Moeller has been named the 2024 Division II Coach of the Year. Moeller just
    finished her ninth year as the lead assistant coach for Western Washington University’s
    women’s rowing team, ending the season with a first-place team finish and gold medal
    in the Varsity 8+ at the 2024 NCAA National Championship. She helped lead WWU to
    the 2017 NCAA Division II team title and was previously recognized as a member of the
    2017 Pocock/CRCA Division II Staff of the Year.

    Division III
    Lily Siddall, Tufts University
    Lily Siddall is the Division III National Coach of the Year. Siddall finished her first year
    as head coach of the Tufts Women’s Rowing team with a team title and first place
    Varsity 8+ finish at the 2024 NCAA National Championship. 2024 marked both the
    program’s first NESCAC title and NCAA championship. Previously this season, Siddall
    has been recognized as the NESCAC Coach of the Year, the CRCA Division III New England Region Coach of the Year, and as part of the CRCA Division III New England
    Region Staff of the Year.

    Lightweight
    Mary Foster, Boston University
    Mary Foster is the co-recipient of the Lightweight Coach of the Year Award, following a
    remarkable season and her first year at the helm of Boston University Lightweight
    Rowing. Foster led the Terriers to a third-place team finish at the 2024 IRA National
    Championship, as well as a national championship in the lightweight 2x and a silver
    medal in the lightweight 4+. She was selected as a co-recipient of the CRCA
    Lightweight Regional Coach of the Year award, as well as leading her staff to the honor
    of the CRCA Lightweight Regional Staff of the Year Award.

    Paul Rassam, Princeton University
    Paul Rassam is the co-recipient of the Lightweight Coach of the Year Award, finishing
    his 19th season at the helm of the Princeton Lightweight Women. The Tigers clinched
    the 2024 IRA National Championship title and first place finish in the Women’s
    Lightweight 8+. Rassam’s 1V8+ remains undefeated against lightweight crews since the
    IRA Championship in 2019. He was selected as the 2024 CRCA Lightweight Regional
    Coach of the Year.
