Over 40 teams and 1,000 rowers will race in the Lenny Peters Cup, at the High Point Autumn Rowing Festival, the largest international sporting event in North Carolina, Saturday, Oct. 24. This year marks the fifth year of the Lenny Peters Cup and coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Lenny Peters Foundation.
The two-time defending world champion U.S. women’s four will race reigning Olympic champion The Netherlands.
“I am so excited to get to race the Lenny Peters Cup,” said Teal Cohen, three-seat in the U.S. crew. ‘I’ve heard amazing things about the event, and I can’t wait to welcome The Netherlands to the USA and bring the high-level competition to High Point.”
“Through my rowing career I try to gather special and memorable moments, by racing cool races, meeting nice people and race other strong athletes,” said Ymkje Clevering of the Dutch four. “The Lenny Peters Cup is new for me and I am very curious to the racing and atmosphere of this race.”
College racing features Duke, High Point, Edinburgh, and Oxford universities on Oak Hollow Lake in High Point, N.C.
