Stanford’s women’s rowing program completed an undefeated regular season at The Big Row against Cal on the first weekend of May and head into the ACC championships ranked number one in the country, with statement victories earlier in the spring against number-two Texas and number-four Tennessee to their credit. The Cardinal have also dispatched ACC rivals Syracuse and Virginia handily. Next up for Stanford is the ACC Rowing Championship, May 17-18 at Clemson and, presumably, an invite to the NCAA Rowing Championship, May 30 – June 1 on New Jersey’s Lake Mercer.
Washington’s first varsity eights—the number-one men and number-three women—won the Opening Day Windermere Cups over New Zealand Nation Team crews. Number-16 Indiana also raced in the women’s Windermere Cup, finishing third.
In youth rowing, the first two regional qualifiers for the USRowing Youth National Championships were held over the weekend at the 2025 USRowing Central Youth Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla. and 2025 USRowing Southwest Youth Championships in Gold River, Calif.
Youth championship season continues with the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regional Championships the weekend of May 10–11, followed by the Northwest and Northeast Regional Championships May 17–18. Five additional qualifying regattas will be held throughout May to determine the crews advancing to Youth Nationals at Sarasota’s Nathan Benderson Park, June 12-15 to compete for 39 USRowing youth national titles.
