Monday evening the United States Olympic Committee issued a statement saying "...the path toward postponement is the most promising" following a survey of American Olympic hopefuls.

The decision by both the Canadian and Australian Olympic Committees not to send athletes to Tokyo this summer significantly increases the pressure to postpone or cancel the 2020 Games.
