US women’s 8 golden again

The U.S. women’s 8+ was named U.S. Olympic team of the month for August after clinching its seventh gold medal in world or Olympic championships at the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. Crews from Canada and China finished second and third, respectively, at worlds.

The crew includes: Katelin Snyder (Cox), Heidi Robbins (Stroke) Eleanor Logan, Caroline Lind, Grace Luczak, Lauren Schmetterling, Amanda Polk, Meghan Musnicki and Vicky Opitz (Bow). Tom Terhaar, head women’s coach for USRowing, coached the boat.

The U.S. W8+ is undefeated at the world championships since 2007 and has won at the last two Olympic games.
